Long weekend snowmobiling in Big Sky & Yellowstone

What a wonderful winter wonderland! SO much snow. We had 4 couples and the home was very comfortable and a short drive to the Big Sky Village. The Village had plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping for all your needs. We drove to Yellowstone (1.5 hour) for an all day snowmobile tour. Our tour guide, Jessie was both knowledgeable and fun! We made it to Old Faithful, our half way point, had lunch and headed back. We also did a half day snowmobile tour in Big Sky. Our tour guide Kyle, took us to the top of the mountain where he built a large fire and let us loose to ride free in a large, open space. Highly recommend both tours. In addition, we attended the Skijoring event which was a blast! Who wouldn’t love watching horses pull the skiers through an obstacle course. It was our first time in Montana but won’t be our last. Can’t wait to go back during Spring or Summer. Our planner Hillary was extremely helpful in scheduling our events and providing suggestions on where to eat and things to see and do. Olivia the onsite concierge was very helpful and checked in with us every day. Great service from both of them and really made our stay easy and enjoyable.

WONDERFUL EASTER!!

Our family of 15 went to Big Sky, Montana for Easter!! Lone Peak Lodge was great for our family. We were 8 adults & 7 grandchildren ranging from ages 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 & 2 years old! This house was a lot of space & great accommodations for everyone!!
We first skied in Madison Base where the grandchildren had ski lessons. It was perfect for advanced skiers and beginners. The Ski Instructors were wonderful & very fun for the grandchildren! It was not crowded and a lot of green slopes for beginners!

After a few days all of them had crossed over to another mountain called Mountain Village! This offered green, blue & black runs.

Big Ski is beautiful! The snow was perfect!!

Our Inspirato Concierge, Danielle Henricksen helped plan the trip.

She was fabulous!! She helped with our ride from the airport…. Upon arrival at the house Danielle had a surprise Easter Egg hunt for the grandchildren! They all loved it! She did our restaurant reservations at some great restaurants, She booked Ski Butlers @ our home to fit all our skis. She also had recommendations for a great Chef Seasonal Montana Catering two nights.

Suggestions for a babysitter for the youngest grandchild.

It was definitely a very memorable time for our family to celebrate Easter in such a wonderful place!!

We would highly recommend Big Sky Montana

(Home of the Biggest Skiing in America) & Lone Peak Lodge!

Thanks to Danielle for being our Destination Planner & Concierge our trip was GREAT!

Big Sky is beautiful, but dining options pricey.

We loved Big Sky, it is a beautiful place. Highlights included the guided tour of Yellow Stone and some great hikes. Our guide from Yellowstone Scenic Tours was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the park and he did a great job of getting us to spots like old faithful and the falls without having to fight giant crowds. The Ousel falls hike is right in town and is a great hike if you are traveling with kids, very doable and very pretty. We also really enjoyed the Thursday night Music in the Square. The little kids also enjoyed the Wanna be Wrangler program at the 320 ranch, the Grizzly and Wolf park in West Yellowstone and the activities in the village.

The house was a great set up for us, we had ten people staying at the house in total, the 3 kids stayed in the room with the bunkbeds and everyone had plenty of space.

On the downside, we found the options for dining out all very pricey and for the most part just average in quality. Next trip there we would plan on cooking more at home. The Yurt dining experience was very cool and fun, but again very price ( we had 3 kids under 6 that all had buttered noodles for $120 per kid). I get that you are paying for the experience, but I don't think I would recommend it for young kids. We had a chef dinner one night and it was delicious, and the chef was a great guy, but again it cost twice as much as what we paid the prior year in when we stayed at an Inspirato house in Hilton Head. One other thing that we did not know until after we booked the trip was that if you want to use the facilities at Moonlight basin, you have to pay $175 per person, per day for the entire week. In our case that would be $8,575 for the week and that does not include golf or anything like that. Also the water pressure at the house is poor. At one point we had no water coming out of the upstairs showers when we had 4 people trying to take showers at the same time. They had to wait until the people on the lower floors finished before they had enough pressure.

Mountains in the summertime

Long Peak Lodge is a super place for a large group to spend time in the summer. The home is clean, well designed, and well appointed, with a spectacular view. Great spaces to gather, but also set up so that there are spaces for time apart too. Best of all, it's set in the Big Sky, MT location, and there's so much to do, especially if you love the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, Yellowstone, etc...and outdoors lover's dream. Liz, our concierge, arrange a super itinerary that made 8 people aged 11 to 75 very happy! She's a Big Sky wiz, and we were grateful to have her attentive help. What a fun time; this is a place where we will definitely visit again.

Overall Fantastic

Great home, very spacious with lovely amenities. Easy ski in and a short walk to ski out. Would love greater access to the resort/club. Would definitely go back again.
