Location

The nearest major airport is San Jose International Airport (SJC), located approximately 83 miles from Carmel Valley Ranch. SJC provides nonstop service to numerous major cities in the United States and a few international hubs including London and Vancouver. Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is about 12 miles away and offers service to hubs in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, and Texas.

Carmel Valley Ranch has more than enough for a great getaway on site, but we suggest a rental car for the roughly 90-minute drive to the resort and for exploring the nearby towns, wineries, and mountains. Peaceful setting for an active lifestyle

In the beautiful hillside of Carmel Valley. Both a peaceful property, but also full of activities from tennis to hiking. Excellent tennis instructors and don't miss the beautiful vegetable and flower garden on the property. A short drive to Carmel-by-the-Sea which, like the resort, is extremely dog friendly.

Dog Hotel

Felt like we were at the dog hotel. Many other guests had dogs with them, at the pool, outside breakfast, walking the property. We left our dog at home but our room had a pillow, water bowl & long scratches on the floor from large dogs. The deck was smaller than pictured and our view was blocked by a tree. We loved the property, golf course and surrounding area, it's just the room was not what we expected.

Great property and amenities

The room and view were great. Spa, restaurants, bar, and pool were all great. We spent most of our time exploring Carmel-by-the-sea and the local wineries. The concierge was very helpful and responsive. I regret not playing golf on the property because it was a beautiful course.

Be aware - this is a very family oriented property, so you will be sharing the property with kids and dogs.

Carmel Valley Ranch is Awesome!

My husband, daughter, and 6 year old granddaughter had a wonderful stay here, and I would recommend it to anyone! We took several courses which we loved: The beekeeping course was so wonderful...the guide/beekeeper was a fabulous teacher. We also attended the goat class, the hen class, and the bath bomb class, as well as the Easter Egg Hunt...all were fun and entertaining. Nights were spent around one of the fire pits making smore's and visiting with families, children. The restaurant food is very good, every single employee we encountered was warm, friendly, and helpful, and made us feel welcome. While there was plenty in classes, relaxing on our patios, playing games, etc., to do, we also went into Carmel and Monterey, and traveled to Big Sur - beautiful! Don't miss the delightful little store packed with beautiful items, lots of lavender (which is prolific around the property), and several lovely pools. A perfect place to relax, engage, vacation!
