Location

You'll fly into Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR), which is about 6 miles from Portrait Firenze. From the U.S., you'll connect via Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or another major European city. There are also direct flights into Pisa's Galileo Galilei Airport, about 60 miles west of Florence.

You won't need a car in this destination; in fact, tourists generally can't even drive within the city limits. Fortunately, you'll stay in the heart of the city, where you can walk to many attractions. For something a little farther, such as a trip to Chianti country, your hotel concierge can arrange for a driver. You'll also be conveniently close to the rail station, and we highly recommend making an easy day trip to Pisa, Venice or Rome.

The Only place to stay in Florence!

After traveling all over Northern Italy, arriving at this hotel was quite amazing. The level of service received throughout our stay in addition to the beautiful suite and cozy restaurant is second to none. The location and view are perhaps the best in town. Close to all the sights and high end shopping.

If you are driving in with a car, I would highly recommend getting instructions from the hotel, as it can be very difficult. Navigation systems can’t do it.

Great Place to Stay in Florence

My wife and I stayed at Portrait for three nights. It was just us and no kids. We loved the Portrait Firenze Hotel. It was centrally located to literally everything. And when I mean centrally located, I mean we could not have asked for a better location from which to conveniently explore all of Florence. The concierge staff was fantastic. Our room looked right over the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio. So after a day of walking around and seeing the sights, it was fantastic to come back to our air conditioned room, relax in the suite, watch all the people from our room and re-charge for a nice evening out for dinner. We felt like we were right in the middle of all of Florence but we still had our place to relax. Could not recommend the Portrait Firenze more. Only caveat is that no matter where one stays, I would not want to explore Florence with little kids.

Amazing Hotel with amazing people and service!

We just came back with friends of ours celebrating our 20yr anniversary. Let me tell you, this hotel and the people that work there are first class in every way. The hotel is located perfectly in the heart of Florence and our room, the Deluxe River Suite had a breathtaking view of the Arno River. Catalina, Baha, David, Caroline and (I know I am missing a few names) everyone else really made the difference. They were so accommodating and their dinner and activity recommendations were absolutely perfect. They were also genuinely engaging and made it a priority that we were taken care of. This hotel is 5 star from the rooms to the food to the ambience. I would highly recommend the Portait to anyone thinking about visiting the beautiful city of Florence.
