A Village of Islands

Just 90 minutes south of Miami, six of the islands in the coral cay archipelago known as the Florida Keys are Islamorada. Cheeca Lodge & Spa has a celebrated past of more than half a century, dating back to 1946. You're situated just 5 miles from Windley Fossil Reef Geological State Park. As a guest of the lodge, you'll be immersed in 27 acres of pristine tropical gardens right on the beach, an exclusive oasis. Thanks to its abundance of marine life, this tropical savanna is the sportfishing capital of the world and the seafood doesn't get fresher than this. By land or by sea, there is no shortage of activities during your stay on the Purple Isle.

  • SCUBA Options Galore

Surrounding the southeast coast of Florida is North America's only living coral barrier reef, the third largest in the world. Known as the Great Florida Reef, more than 1,400 species of marine plant and animal species are found in its depths. We recommend diving with Key Dives and their attentive PADI-certified dive instructors. Conveniently, most of their dive sites are about 15 minutes from the dock. You can expect a safe but thrilling SCUBA experience as the instructors manage every detail.

Dozens of dive sites. Thanks to their collective experience and knowledge of the area, Key Dives takes its divers to 60 different dive sites around Islamorada. From 25-foot dives filled with colorful fish to sand channels filled with hogfish and eels to a 90-foot dive where the reef meets the sand, the choices are endless.

Private charters. On boats named The Giant Stride and Satisfaction, Key Dives offers the option of half- and full-day charters if you would like to dive, snorkel, try your hand at fishing or even relax on a sunset cruise.
