Location

The city of Milan has three airports: Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) is about 1 hour drive away from your residence, while Milano Linate Airport (LIN) and Il Caravaggio “Orio al Serio” International Airport (BGY) are both about 75 minutes away. Switzerland's Lugano Agno (LUG) regional airport is about a 45-minute drive. We strongly recommend hiring a private driver instead of renting a car.

Truly amazing location

We went with our grown kids and three very young grandchildren. We loved the Villa and the onsite hostess (Monica) was truly special. The house is an older house, but has been graced with all of the modern ammenities you would expect. The chefs that came in were great and we even had onsite massage treatments. For our tours of Bellagio and Varenna a lovely boat pulled right up to our dock and whisked us away.

For really young children, I think I would recommend somewhere that they can get out and play/swim/etc. a little more. There are also a lot of stairs, so while the space is magical - I probably advise that your kids are a little bit older before visiting Lake Como.

Moving 12 people around Lake Como was a challenge - especially the grandchildren who were all 4 and below, but that is just the reality of tight streets and summer time crowds in Lake Como.

Villa Breva - great house on Como - small issues

I want to give it 4 1/2 stars but that is not supported. so I broke the review up...

Things that made Villa Breva a 5 star stay:

Right on the lake. Dock access. Backyard is fantastic. family spent a lot of time there.

House was roomy enough for 13. Enjoyed dinners out back at large table.

Activities that were great: boat rides to Bellagio and Varenna. Day trip to Lugano. Greenway hike along lake - but it was a little challenging.

Monica the concierge was terrific and very responsive. Danielle, the local chef, cooked for us in the house for 3 nights and those meals were great.

Things that made the Villa Breva a 4 star stay;

Lots of quirky things in the house. It's a vintage home so some things not up to present. e.g. garbage bins in kitchen are tiny and kept in a large drawer under the sink. Some shower heads needed repair or replacement.

The house is in the small town of Laglio. Quaint, but the restaurants were just OK.

Wonderful trip in every way!

Valentina's planning and Monica's onsite assistance were superb. The villa was beautiful. Our driver, Roberto, was masterful. We rented a Vaporina boat our first full day, and got a personal tour of the lovely properties on the lake. During our visit to Lake Como, we spent time in Bellagio, Varenna, Balbianello, Milan, and Lugano, Switzerland. The restaurant recommendations and personal chefs were fabulous. The trip was excellent! I highly recommend.

Incredible Trip & Property

Every detail of this trip was perfection. The planning by Valentina was amazing. She meticulously planned the entire trip for our entire large family of 14 before we arrived and upon arrival Monica took over the careful execution of each and every event detail to make sure things were seamless and we could relax and enjoy.

Daniel the chef was amazing and his cooking classes of pastas and pizzas were delicious. We highly recommend eating at home and enjoying the amazing backyard and view of the lake.

The uncle boat tour of the lake and lunch at Bellagio was spectacular and wave surfing was a highlight for the teenagers for sure. We had many favorite activities from the greenway hike to a trip to Lugano to a visit to Arpepe winery which is a must !

The home is spacious for a large group and has excellent air conditioning. The housekeeping services were amazing and left the home clean every day.

Wonderful stay for our large group!

We just returned from an unforgettable stay at the beautiful Villa Breva with a large group of family and friends, including both adults and children. The villa was perfect for accommodating all of us comfortably, offering plenty of space, lovely amenities, and breathtaking views.

The location was absolutely gorgeous—peaceful, quiet, and blissfully uncrowded, which made our time together even more special. It felt like our own private slice of paradise on the lake.

A huge shout-out to Monica, the destination concierge, who was truly exceptional. She went above and beyond to help with every request, always responding quickly and with genuine warmth and friendliness. Her local knowledge and attention to detail made our stay seamless and stress-free. She even brought us an American flag cake on the 4th of July with fun party decorations. Wow- we were so surprised and happy! She's the best.

We can't recommend this villa highly enough for anyone traveling with a large group. It was an incredible experience from start to finish!
