Location

The city of Milan has three airports: Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) is about a 75-minute drive from Villa della Capra, while Milano Linate Airport (LIN) and Il Caravaggio “Orio al Serio” International Airport (BGY) are both about a 1 hour and 30 minute drive. Switzerland's Lugano Agno (LUG) regional airport is about a 1-hour drive. We strongly recommend hiring a private driver instead of renting a car.

Beautiful Home, Incredible Location

We stayed here for a week in August and we loved this home. The house itself was very nice with a very large kitchen set up and plenty of lounge space. We spent a lot of time on the terrace upstairs and downstairs and a lot of time in the pool. The house sits waterfront with a small pedestrian walk area between the home and the lake.

The location was the #1 thing we all kept talking about. It is a 5-7 min walk to anything you wanted. Grocery store and wine shop was about 7 min away, restaurants/gelato 1-2 min away, ferry stop 2-3 min away, truly anything you needed within close range.

Also, Valentina did an AMAZING job organizing many plans for us. We used Daniela, the chef, for 3 nights. We did a pizza party and we had a couple gluten free folks. Everyone thought it was the best pizza they’ve ever had. They did a private dinner for us as well which was top notch. BUT the best was the cooking class. Do the cooking class for sure. We had a lot of fun and learned some new fun things, including making a fish saltimbocca that was outstanding. We also did a private boat day for 6 hours to see the full scope of the lake and that was really nice. Matti gave us a full tour with history on the lake. It was fantastic as well!!

We still give it a 5 star review because of how nice the home was and how amazing the location was, but 2 things to know: 1- the AC does struggle a little. There’s the main bedroom on the 2nd floor and all other rooms are on the bottom floor. The bottom floor was cooler but the main bedroom with the heat was warm. We used a fan but still slept warm but it was very hot out. 2- the top floor of the house is owned by someone else. We were told they only come for the month of August and they were quiet but just so you know that you may not technically have the whole house to yourself. Again, it didn’t hurt our experience at all but others may want to know that so thought I’d share.
