Location

Getting to Mougins is easy, as the walled village is just a 20-minute drive from Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport (NCE). Once you land, you can either hop on a bus to Mougins, take a taxi, or rent a car. Renting a car isn’t necessary since there are plenty of trains, taxis, and private car services to take you where you need to go. You can also get around many of the small towns by foot. If you do choose to rent a car, you’ll be pleased to know they drive on the right side of the road and will find that a drive through the French Riviera is beautiful all year long.

Magical Location

I never knew a place like this could exist. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe this village was the most enchanting stopwe have ever made. The village itself was quaint and magical at the same time. The cleanliness of the village was beyond belief. The food was tremendous with lots of restaurants. It was a culinary delight for sure.

Amazing French village

The residence was very spacious, though two sets of stairs so if mobility issues all the bedrooms are upstairs. It was modern and clean and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Mougins is a very quaint village, cobblestone streets and beautiful sunsets. There is a residents club within walking distance with a bar, restaurant and pool that we had access to which was great. We did have issues with ants in the kitchen and a leak in master shower too, we couldn't use the shower for a couple of days.

Absolutely dreamy south of France apartment

We loved our stay in Mougins with our college age kids- ages 19 and 22. The apartment was the perfect home base for exploring around the south of France. We took day trlps to Nice, Eze and Monaco. At the end of our busy touring days we loved returning to the old village of Mougins for dinner at all of the wonderful restaurants. It was the perfect ending to our days and we could enjoy our meals and wine leisurely and then simply walk home to our apartment. Definitely have the asian fried chicken and "sexy cookie" at Resto Des Arts. Other highlights included- lunch at Les Ramparts in Eze (best lunch locale and view) and a boat day that we did with our captain, Sebastian. The one nice surprise that we did not anticipate was how lovely and serene the pool and lounge area is at La Reserve. It was nice to have cocktails and snacks and relax around the pool at the end of the day. Sandra and all of the inspirato staff were simply amazing and went above and beyond.

Beautiful, Peaceful, Lovely

We arrived in Mougins after spending 5 days in Paris. It was nice to have a relaxing apartment for our family to spread out. The apartment is very nicely appointed and had everything we needed during our stay.

Mougins is a beautiful village, filled with art shops and restaurants, with cobblestone streets that cars aren't allowed on. It was very easy for us to do day trips to Nice, Antibes, and Cannes from Mougins. Sandra, our concierge, did a superb job at arranging all our transportation needs, offering suggestions for outings, and lunch and dinner reservations.

We particularly liked La Mediterannee, for lunch and dinner. Wonderful service, delicious food and presentation. We also really enjoyed Le Petit Fouet for dinner.

The only two restaurant "misses" for us was La Plongnoir, in Nice and La Guerite, off of Cannes. The food was good and views were beautiful (the views are beautiful everywhere!), they were both just a little too far out of the main towns for us. It meant a lot of walking both to and from the restaurant/pier.

We would definitely stay in Mougins again!

Great Trip, Mediocre Inspirato Service

PROS: quaint village, clean and nicely appointed accommodations, kitchen to cook for my daughter with food allergies, great air conditioning CONS: you can not walk out your door in the morning and grab a coffee or breakfast before 9am, no place nearby to buy toiletries or anything else for that matter, coffee capsules in the apartment were decaf only, no hair conditioner, TV doesn’t work properly (after long days it would have been nice if the streaming features worked, concierge did nothing to address this) ALSO: You do not need to hire a driver unless you like spending $1000/day on transportation. We did this on the recommendations found here and after 2 days we ended up renting a car instead. We were not told by Inspirato in advance that if we wanted to take a car service somewhere that we would have to pay the driver to wait for us at the bargain price of 90 Euro an hour. So, we ended up renting a car and it was so much easier. The roads there are very similar to ours and they drive on the same side, so no big deal. We drove everywhere from St. Tropez to Eze to Monte Carlo. No issues with driving ourselves at all and you have so much more freedom. CONCIERGE: Where do I start? She arranged dinner for us every night on the fly and arranged the car rental, but did not help us navigate any of our plans or give us any type of direction . For instance, when we went to La Guerite in Cannes we first had to drive to the port to take a boat to the restaurant. This was fine, except the port was HUGE and concierge did not tell us where to go specifically. Nobody at the dock seemed to know either. This was very frustrating and stressful. We finally found someone who knew where we should wait, but the concierge should have told us beforehand or had someone meet us at the port to guide us. Second, Cafe du Jardin in Eze was amazing, but another stressful event trying to find exactly where to go within the stone maze. There are many places there to eat and shop. Are Chateaux d’Or and Cafe du Jardin the same thing? is Cafe du Jardin inside Chateaux d’Or? Plus, it’s extremely slippery since the stones have been worn down. Knowing all of this ahead of time would have been helpful and a lot less stressful. Additionally, the last night we had dinner at Hotel Du Cap. We wanted to go early to have drinks at the bar except the concierge didn’t tell us the bar is in the main building, not the building where the restaurants are. She knew we were going early so why didn’t she point this out? Overall, we were left to figure everything out on our own so I’m not sure how much value the Inspirato concierge brought to this trip. OVERALL: We had a great time, but 5 days in Mougins is too long. It’s a small and isolated village with limited amenities. 2-3 days would have been perfect. And don’t count on the concierge for anything more than pre-trip grocery shopping and booking reservations, which you could do on your own.
