  • As a direct impact of climate change and high temperatures, the sargassum seaweed phenomenon is affecting a significant part of the Caribbean, and may sporadically disturb Eden Roc at Cap Cana’s private Caletón beach and the direct access to the sea. January in DR

The weather was fantastic - 85 during the day, 75 after dark and low humidity.

Very nice room and no disturbance / noise from anyone around us.

The restaurants were very good, with excellent food and wine choices. Restaurant managers were very good.

We enjoyed the beach and it was not crowded.

All in all a wonderful winter break and especially as it was sub zero at home while we were away.

Good golf courses and walking trails. The PUJ airport was very impressive (clean and modern).

Excellent all the way around

We stayed in 3216/3214 (2nd floor in the building overlooking the pool & beach) and it had amazing views. We were very pleased that it had essentially a full functioning kitchen and plenty of seating for dining or relaxing. Additionally, the food at the restaurants was excellent. While the beach isn’t large, it’s set up nicely with chairs/umbrellas/huts. The pool had plenty of room for everyone and never felt crowded. The staff was very good (a few language barriers here & there but nothing that caused a problem) and the property is great. It will definitely be a repeat visit for us!

Beautiful place with wonderful people

Highly recommend the suites on the beach. The suites are spacious with two full bedrooms, two full baths and a full kitchen with a large balcony containing comfortable seating and a dining table. We spoke with people in the villas, and they didn't like having to take a golf cart to the beach/pool every day. It's much more convenient to be in the suite so you can fetch forgotten items, etc. Our kids could head up on their own, while we could still be nearby, which was great. Our kids who are 6 and 8 LOVED the kids club, which was a great bonus for us. They wanted to be there at least 2 to 4 hours a day, which was amazing.

Great beachfront resort

Eden Roc is a wonderful resort and even better when you are staying beachfront. Everyone at the resort is very accommodating. The wait staff on the beach/pool for chaise and umbrella setup is quick and attentive, along with delicious cocktails from the beach bar. Grounds crews are raking seaweed from the beach nonstop when necessary. Villas are lovely but I will say there is a mildew issue brewing. Rooms do have a definite mildew smell that needs addressing! They are beautifully decorated and spacious, the outside seating on the patio is lovely for evening cocktails. Dining is great at LaPalapa on the water and staff is fantastic. Dining however at Blue, is difficult, very slow and inexperienced staff contributed to our desire not to eat there again. Italian night at Mediterrano was not only elegant but exceptional in taste and service. The new spa is beautiful and massage services were great. Unfortunately, the shower water temperature was cold, never got hot in the ladies locker area. Overall, a wonderful beachfront resort. The adjacent Espada Golf course is stunning and a must to play!! Our Inspirito team was fantastic in planning all dining, spa services, transportation and zip lining plans. We never had to ask the resort concierge for a thing.

Paradise

This resort was pretty close to perfection! Our suite was ideal for my husband and I and our two daughters (both in their twenties). We woke up every morning and had coffee on our balcony, looking over the amazing pool area and sandy white beaches. We spent our days at the resort sitting beachside and couldn't get over how white and soft the sand was. The staff kept telling us we were there during their "winter" and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. 6 straight days of 80 degrees, sun and no humidity!

Our lounge chairs had blue flags on them...raise the flag and you'd be amazed how quickly your Pina colada gets brought to you! Or, step over to the beach bar where the bartender, David, made Tom Cruise in Cocktail, look like an amateur.

The restaurants at the resort are all beautiful and the food was fantastic too. We have some food allergies in our family, and if you speak up, they will make almost any accommodation you need. We highly recommend having a private wine tasting dinner in La Cava. But be prepared for a LOT of wine during this 3 hour event!

We left the resort for two days...one for a fun day at Scape Park. This place surprised me with how big it was and how much there is to do. Also surprising...not having to wait on lines! The second excursion we had was a boat ride to Saona Island. The beach there itself wasn't as nice as the one at the resort, but it was still fun to be out and see other parts of the Dominican.

We don't usually return places because there is a whole world to see, but this resort was so convenient and easy to get to...and so amazingly beautiful...it's hard to not want to go back.
