Location

Palmaïa - The House of AïA is truly a destination in itself. The beach, multiple pools, dining experiences, and numerous activities are all available on site. Since you’ll likely spend most of your days exploring the resort, we don’t recommend renting a car during your stay.

The resort sits in a prime beachfront location just an hour outside of Cancun, and Cancun International Airport (CUN) is 38 miles away. Need help booking flights? Our expert Air Desk Specialists can book your preferred seats and flight times at the best available price.

Simply Fabulous

I'm a bit reluctant to write this review lest this marvelous hotel get all booked up in the future!

We loved this hotel so much we've re-booked before our departure. The staff is lovely, friendly, warm and happy. While the hotel is vegan, they do offer many options for vegetarian, pescatarian, and omnivore, and the food itself is inventive, delicious, and beautifully presented. There are many many beautiful pools, one prettier and bigger than the next, but when there's a spectacular beach with soft white sand and turquoise water it's hard to decide how to spend your day. Of course, there's yoga, meditation, and lots of activities to discover or renew your spirit as well. The room was terrific, comfortable, with an inviting sitting area as well, a lovely balcony on the sea, and great A/C. There's plenty of nightlife for those who want it too, with some great DJs. The restaurants are so beautiful and varied in cuisine. The nomadic guides, what other hotels call a butler, are awesome—we had Kasandra and Karen and they were super responsive and helpful. And nice! Great gym with the latest techno equipment, too; the only drawback was they could use some lighter weights for pilates and light strength training. The spa is stunning, just steps from the beach but deep in the jungle! and a great massage. Every little detail was executed perfectly. If we could this one six stars we would! It's a terrific place for families, couples, or friends travelling together. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Vacay South of Cancun

Enjoyed our time at Palmaïa - The House of Aïa. It's a yoga and vegan spot ... designed for chillax. While we are not vegans - the food was excellent and there were a few exception items for non-vegans (catch of the day or chicken). Workout facility a bit small but nice. Spa was nice - reminiscent of being in a jungle. Lounge chairs were a bit sparse - instead they had a lot of mattress/cushions under wooden open cabanas. The pools were a cold (not temperature - but stark). The beach was nice. Crews pick up sargassum (seaweed) daily ... but plan for a little on the beach (comes with the location). If you're looking for a total chillax location - this would fit the bill.

Health-oriented, vegan luxury spa getaway

Palmaia Spa (plant based) is in the Cancun area and is an ~1 hour drive from the Cancun airport. Great for a three day couple's weekend wellness getaway via the Atlanta Airport. Facilities are immaculate, with exceptional service & very good vegan food at this luxury all-inclusive (alcohol is included with some common acceptable bar brands). The resort has a truly private beach running the length of the property. For those who like ocean swimming and the water's edge, best to be aware that seaweed can pile up, even after the staff remove much of it every AM (not a unique issue for this part of the coast). Most folks just swim through the seaweed where it is not too dense to enjoy the blue-green ocean water. Security staff are not intrusive and can be seen throughout the resort at all hours - no security concerns at all - ever. Cleanliness of the rooms, buildings, and spa was excellent. Floors throughout the resort's many buildings are mopped and walls are wiped down daily - impressive. There are 4 buildings with guest rooms that are all ocean facing - higher 4 & 5th floors have the best views, including sunrise. All buildings with abutting crystal clear saltwater pools. First floor rooms (that we saw) have their own swim-in and swim-out poolside patios - families with children, that are good swimmers, may really enjoy this feature. If you enjoy your privacy these rooms are not likely a great option, since anyone in the pool can swim up. The adults only building has a swim-up bar with in-pool seating with small tables. This offers a nice place to relax and meet an eclectic group of folks. In room, pool-side, and ocean cabana dining and drink service was excellent and responsive. Uniformly excellent spa experience - we had the soulmate couples massage on the first day, on the next day I had the deep tissue 80 minute massage and my wife had a facial - totally rejuvenating. I had Norma and my wife had Rubin on both days - both were just amazing. All of the wellness activities we participated in were excellent and lead by outstanding instructors with advanced experience. All of our instructors demonstrated a true passion for what they do. Staff remembered our names and preferences - everywhere. Required Covid testing for going back to the US is handled seamlessly by the resort. Transportation to and from the airport remains a work in progress, as the resort continues to outsource this piece. I would recommend you consider booking this on your own until Palmaia takes ownership of this service. We will return.

Amazing Food, Rooms, Atmosphere, Apa!

We loved our stay at Palmaia, we will definitely return. The food was really, really good. The staff was very kind and helpful. The beds/pillows were very comfortable. Beach "chairs" were great. No complaints!

Here are some tips:

1. Our room did not have a tub - it had two showers, different than pictures online.

2. They are hard to communicate with before you get there, but just keep trying.

3. I'm GF and told them before we came, along with flight info, etc, but they didn't have any of that on file.

4. The spa costs extra - book ahead - worth it!

5. Online it says they have transportation from the airport, they do, but for Inspirato members, it's not included.
