Location

We recommend arriving via Santa Rosa Sonoma County Airport (STS), as it’s the closest to Villa Della Luna. You can also fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). The drive from either of these airports is about 90 minutes.

To most easily reach restaurants and shops throughout the valley, we recommend a rental car through club partner Avis, as public transportation including taxis or ride-sharing services are not reliable. If you are visiting wineries and tastings, your Destination Concierge is happy to arrange a driver or bicycle rentals.

The Sonoma property is simply Bellissimo!

I have to say, the road to the villa can be a challenge. It is a single track road up Moon Mountain, but it is worth the drive. Make sure you get a pin texted to you before you head up the mountain.

Once there, the villa and the views are outstanding. The trip to the market for food in Sonoma is 20+ minutes away.

The overall experience was fantastic and we will return again and again.

Another Wine Country Gem

This was our 4th visit to Sonoma Valley with Inspirato and it was our best! The house was amazing!

Stunning Home with Major Setbacks

We recently stayed at this vacation home, and while the property itself is absolutely gorgeous with stunning design and amazing views and amenities, unfortunately our experience was overshadowed by a couple of major issues.

First, due to a road closure, we were forced to take an alternative route to reach the house. We had only been advised that it would be an "extra 20 minutes," but in reality the road was extremely narrow, winding, and felt unsafe for our large van. We didn't feel comfortable asking our driver to navigate it, which meant we had to meet him at the bottom and manage from there. This was a significant inconvenience and not adequately communicated to us ahead of time.

The biggest issue, however, occurred on Friday morning when we woke up to find the house had no running water. Apparently the pump had stopped working and there was no water in the well. While our concierge, Judith, was extremely considerate and handled the situation with empathy, the fact remained that we went without water (or usable toilets) for over six hours. For a property of this caliber, this was a major disappointment.

Overall, the home itself is stunning and well-appointed, but the road access and the water issue significantly impacted our stay.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed the home’s beautiful design, views, and amenities, and we’re sorry your stay was affected by the road closure and temporary water outage. We truly appreciate your patience as Judith assisted throughout the situation. The pump has since been repaired and the water system is now fully operational. We’ve also shared your comments about road access with our local team to help enhance communication for future guests. We’re grateful for your thoughtful review and look forward to welcoming you back for a seamless and relaxing stay soon.

Phenomenal Family Vacation

Villa Del Luna is the perfect spot for a family retreat. Spacious, private and absolutely stunning views. We took advantage of the private chef service one evening and it was delicious--totally recommend that future guests do the same. Also, the private wine tasting with Three Sticks is a don't miss event. The only negative is the road to the house is a challenge as it is narrow and in places only one lane. We avoided traveling after dark.

House was great, but better in good weather.

The house is very very high up on a hill and the accent and descent are a bit treacherous, with nearly zero visibility with the rainy weather we experienced. Regardless of weather, it is a scary 10-20 minute drive. My recommendation is to hire a driver in advance (not just for a day of wine tasting, but also just to go out for dinner) unless you have a designated driver.

As a result of the weather, we weren't able to enjoy the views, the outdoor area, pool, etc. I'm sure it's wonderful when the weather is great. That said, the house had plenty of space for staying indoors!

Ryan, the concierge was amazing and so helpful and knowledgeable in setting up dinners and wine tastings! Made the trip so much easier on me!! Also, having the car on site was great.
