This home is exclusively staffed, managed, and maintained by Inspirato.
All showers and bathtubs in this home are outdoors and have wooden partitions for privacy.
Pack water shoes: Babalua Beach is rocky and has a lot of large shell pieces in some parts. The most swimmable part of the beach is about one-eighth of a mile long and is ideal for kayaking and snorkeling.
Because this home is not inside a gated community or resort, Inspirato takes additional security precautions: we installed an electric gate for the home, hire private security to patrol the cul-de-sac from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and we equip the home with a simple-to-use alarm system, which members are shown how to use upon arrival.
Please note that any grocery delivery after the initial delivery will incur a fee of $75 per order.
Please note that there will be construction in a neighboring lot starting September 2024. Construction takes place Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Please contact your Care team for additional information.
The pool at this home is not heated.
Many restaurants on the island are closed during the month of September.
The internet connectivity in this home has been rated basic.

Location

You'll fly into Providenciales International Airport (PLS). Many airlines offer service here, including Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, Jet Blue, United/Continental and US Airways. There are daily direct flights from Miami, Atlanta, New York (JFK), Boston, Philadelphia and Charlotte.

Since you're oceanfront on Babalua Beach, you won't need a car to reach the best beach on the island. However, we do recommend a rental car to explore other beach and snorkeling sites, as well as venturing to world-class restaurants. Your Destination Concierge is happy to discuss options with you.

A Beautiful Birthday Week at Caya Hico

We stayed at Caya Hico for my birthday and our family vacation, and it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful week. This was our first experience using our Inspirato membership, and it set a very high bar. We loved the property enough that we extended and stayed the full week.

Our concierge, Matt, was an outstanding host. He ordered our groceries before we ever arrived, helped us book activities throughout the stay, and made sure every one of our needs was met without us having to ask twice. We truly have no complaints. We are already looking forward to booking our next trip.

Loved our time in Turks
- We hired the chef recommended, we were happy to stay at the house and not need to find places to eat.

- We had 2 dinners - Land & Sea was beautiful and the food was terrible, we ate at Mango Grove (I think thats the name) decent food but nothing exciting.

- We didn't rent a car, the few times we took a taxi it was $25 each trip
- Snorkeling in front of the house was perfect

- during low tide we walked through the ocean to Rock House and had great lunches

Would definitely go back!

Peaceful Beach & Best Snorkeling

We just got back from Caya Hico and loved our time there. We rented a car with Grace Bay Rentals which I would highly recommend. It was a nice car and a smooth experience. The home is about 10 minutes from the airport and we were able to go to Graceway IGA grocery which was nice and had everything we needed.The home is on the sand and the sliding doors open to covered patio and pool. Two of us brought snorkel gear and the others rented which was easy. The outdoor baths & showers were very cool and the king beds in each room were super comfy. If you are thinking of doing a snorkel excursion, I would find out where they go. All of the snorkel tours we saw went out in the water in front of the house. So we had the best snorkeling outside the back door. So many fish and turtles. If you walk out and walk to the left on the beach toward the first rock in the water. Enter there and there is a smooth bottom strip with sea grass that the turtles hang out and then the reef to the left of that is beautiful. We saw at least 5-10 turtles a day. We would swim out towards the red floating balls (where the tour companies tied up) Save your money on a snorkel tour and just go in the back yard. Vitas Restaurant is right around the corner and a beautiful spot to sit at the bar and have dinner. One of our favorite things we did is go to Chalk Sound- Dave our house concierge recommended- and it was amazing. We ate at Las Brisas (our favorite meal- we ate there twice in the same day) Best Lobster- Snapper Tacos- Coconut Shrimp and the Conch fritters were awesome. All food is freshly made and everything we had from veggies to french fries were great. We did the pontoon tour with Adair- He takes you around and tells you the story of this area and we saw lots of iguanas (no need to take the tour to iguana island) we snorkeled around a plane crash as well. $70/person for 2 hours was worth it. Another one of our best meals was Cocovan- Airstream restaurant next to Coco Bistro. Same chefs. Very casual and relaxed- great food and drinks. We cannot say enough about this home- We felt very safe- Easy to get to- short drive to see Grace Bay- Not crowded- There is a local beach entry that is close to the house but it rarely had people. Construction was not going on while we were there- or very little. Dave is an excellent host- He shared all the best places with us and made us feel so welcome and helped us with everything we needed.

sun, water , pool and beach!

Caya Hico is a unique house. 4 bedrooms that are all the same and 4.5 baths. Water closet are inside and What’s unique is all the showers are outside. The 2 downstairs have tubs in addition to the shower. Every room has AC and the living spaces too. It has laundry on site. Full beautiful kitchen and big living room space. Outside deck with lounge chairs , grill, dinning table and plunge pool. You are also steps from the beach and a great snorkel area and you’ll many boats and people along the stretch to explore the reef. Beach is rocky and when you go into the water there is a lot of small grass shoots so you need to have water shoes. Now a strange part of the house…. There are no glass windows except for the doors, all the other places have metal shutters with screens. If you have the ac on you cannot open these for obvious reasons but it makes the house a little darker than it should be. House overall is very nice and quiet but they are doing a lot of building projects in the area but we were lucky that none of that was happening during our stay but there is a 9 villa complex being built behind the house. Jerome and his guys from Secure Taxi are fantastic and make it so easy to get around. Grace bay restaurants and shops are 10min away. Dave was great helping us out and Theresa too! Thanks to you both.

Second time in TCI was even better

We don't normally go to the same destination two years in a row, but that's what we did with Turks and Caicos. We really love how manageable the island is, with a great mix of activity and chill. You must get a rental car (we got a jeep from Grace Bay Car Rental) to get to the restaurants and explore the beaches.

Last year we stayed at Bambarra and this year we decided to check out Caya Hico. The two houses couldn't be more different. While Bambarra is a nicer, more modern house, we actually preferred Caya Hico simply because it is ON the beach and you can walk out your back door and go snorkeling. The house is a little quirky (no real main bedroom, all the showers are outdoors), but we found it charming rather than annoying.

Food: Coco Bistro is a must. We also went to Da Conch Shack on a Wednesday night and it was a ... spectacle. Food is decent, but the atmosphere is wild. Also, highly recommend hiring Tiziano as a private chef -- a great guy, very talented, and all his dishes are great (have him make lasagna!).

This trip we went deep sea fishing. It wasn't great, so we probably won't be doing that again.

Oh! One thing we did this year that was really great was to get a day pass to Sunset Cove Beach Club. It just opened and was an empty, hidden gem. Really great beach for laying out, tons of fun (self-directed) games and activities for kids and adults, and attentive bartenders. This will only be a hidden gem in 2024 -- I'm sure by next year this place will be popping off.

The only part of the trip that truly sucked was leaving. No, literally -- the airport is way way too small for all the flights. The security line didn't move for over an hour because there was no room in the terminal! All the flights were backed up, and it was miserable. Try to avoid leaving on a Saturday if you can.

We loved Turks and Caicos and we can't wait to return someday. I hope Inspirato acquires more properties here.
