Great Family Adventure!!

This is the 6th trip my family has taken to Vail snow skiing and staying at the Solaris. We stayed at a new unit this year, Alpenglow, and although a beautiful unit with all the amenities you'd expect from Inspirato, the views and highway traffic noise left something to be desired. That being said, the unit sets up great for multiple adults or families with several children. We love the Solaris for its proximity to the slopes and all the entertainments and food choices Vail Village has to offer.

Skiing is great either out of MidVail or Lionshead. The free bus rides in Vail Village make it super easy to go wherever you'd like.

For eating in Vail, I'd recommend Bully Ranch, Up the Creek, Chasing Rabbits and Russell's Steakhouse. Those are some of our favorites that we go to every time we are in Vail.

We went snowmobiling this year with Vail Backcountry Tours and it did not disappoint! We had a fantastic guide, amazingly beautiful scenery and even got to race the snowmobiles a bit on their private track.

The Inspirato staff of Meghan and Victoria did a fantastic job of putting our trip together so all we had to do while there was enjoy!

Amazing adventures were had by all!

Good location but not much else

Condo has no private outdoor seating or space. BR's are facing the Interstate and its noisy. No arm chairs in the place...

Gorgeous but traffic noise

This unit is beautiful - just as you would expect with Inspirato. BUT, 2 of the 3 rooms face the street and highway. There was so much traffic / truck noise that it was difficult to sleep. If youre a heavy sleeper, then you'll be ok. If you're a regular sleeper, then the noise was distrustful, My kids, who were in the other room facing the street were also woken up by traffic noise. Just be aware.

Great skiing, great food, great town

Vail has quickly become our annual wintertime jaunt for CO skiing. Excellent snow and blue sky conditions. 16" of fresh snow on our second day here this time (Jan 2020). Trying to make it to the other CO mountains, but we have such a wonderful time in Vail that we just come back.

Kathie was most helpful soup to nuts on this trip - from hotel resy in Denver, car service to Vail, dinner resy, ordering a custom birthday cake as well as booking off-day activities (dogsledding).

Lunch at the 10th (Mid Vail) is a welcome treat midday before heading out for post-lunch skiing. Dinner at Game Creek was a chance to put on your propers and enjoy a really nice dinner mountaintop, with a snow cat ride to the the restaurant, to boot! Naturally, the children were just thrilled with the snow cat. Matsuhisa is consistent, lively and very convenient to Solaris; always on our restaurant list when we are in Vail.

Helpful ski concierge and lockers right near the gondola make skiing logistics a delight - a genuinely luxurious Inspirato feature you can quickly get used to.

Alpenglow visit

The Alpenglow is a very nice condo in Solaris in the heart of Vail Village. This very comfortable three bedroom home easily accommodated our party of six. You are only a very short (2-3 minute) walk from Solaris to the Inspirato Member Lounge which is a really nice place to relax at the end of the day. The very best part of our trip was the service from Sarah and Brian and the Inspirato team in the Member Lounge. They are very responsive and very helpful. I'd give everyone on the team a "10" rating for excellent service.

A couple of tips:

Due to all the Covid restrictions be sure to make dining reservations well in advance, especially for later in the week. The same applies to golf tee time reservations.

We drove to Piney River Ranch. It's about a 50 minute drive on a very rough dirt/rock road. You don't need a four wheel drive vehicle but don't try to drive this road with a car with low clearance. It's worth the drive. When you arrive you have the option of hiking, horse back riding, canoeing, fishing or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful setting. (Reservations are required for the horse back rides.) Food service-currently on a limited basis-is available.

A trip to Vail in the summer is a lot of fun but if you haven't been this year you haven't missed out because September is a great time to be in the Vail Valley.

I'm sure other members will enjoy a stay at Solaris in Vail.
