Sonnenalp in Vail

We've stayed at the Sonnenalp many times and continue to return. The Suites are great, pool/spa facilities are excellent, access to Sonnenalp Golf Course is a nice benefit, location is very convenient for most activities in the area and the staff is wonderful. Multiple food options at Ludwig's Bully Ranch Cafe and Swiss Cafe.

If you just need a suite instead of a 3 or 4 bedroom condo, this is the place to stay in Vail. We will go back again in the future.

Wonderful Location, Pleasant but Needs Updating

Sonnenalp certainly commands a prime location within Vail Village, but we found the accommodation and hotel in general a bit lacking in certain areas. Overall, the room and amenities could use some updating. The wifi and techology offerings were lacking. The bed / bedding were not the most comfortable; when I asked for more pillows I was told by the hotel staff to "check the closet". The pool was closed for a day during out stay, unannounced, and when we tried to visit another time, the Spa staff turned us away unless we agreed to pay $50 per person. On the bright side, the dining options were fantastic, particularly the buffet breakfast at Ludwig's. However, for any upcoming stays in Vail, I will likely look elsewhere in the Inspirato portfolio.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Sonnenalp.

The "backyard" setting around the pool is a wonderful place

to spend a hot summer afternoon.

Meh

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend and the majority of restaurants, shops, galleries, etc. are closed until after 1st week of June following ski season. That was actually fine by me I like the low key vibe, just wish that had been communicated ahead of time. I never heard from the destination concierge. I had a couple things I wanted to book which I end up trying to do on my own only to find out that they were also closed. I had no idea that there is an Inspirato members only lounge right in Vail Village (apparently also one in Snowmass) which I happen to stumble upon myself. The staff in there was amazing and made me feel very welcomed I hung out, free drinks 3-6, snacks and tv lounge area.

Sonnenalp Vail

The service at the Sonnenalp was impeccable and the suite was comfortable and nice. The location is the best thing about the Sonnenalp, within 15 minutes walk to Lionshead Village and only 5 minutes to the center of Vail Village (and the ski lifts at both locations). We had time one afternoon to visit the Inspirato lounge for a drink and visit with Leah a little bit to hear more about the Solaris resort. We are thinking of another trip to Vail and would stay at the Solaris.
