This home is staffed, managed, and maintained by our trusted partners at Ho’olei at Grand Wailea.
A resort fee of $45 plus tax per night is included in your reservation and includes Wi-Fi access, two refillable water bottles, twice-daily scuba clinics and snorkel lessons, hula and ukulele lessons, a one-time 45-minute photography session, beach yoga classes, and the use of mountain bikes and beach umbrellas (based on availability).
Please note that there is a grocery delivery fee of 25% of the total grocery order cost.

Cancellation policy: Ho’olei at Grand Wailea cancellation policy varies by length of stay, holidays and notice given prior to canceling. For specific cancellation information regarding your travel dates, please contact your Care team.
Maximum occupancy: Up to 2 additional guests are permitted over the stated occupancy at the rate of $50 per guest per night. Additional guest is accommodated on a twin air mattress.

Location

You’ll fly into Kahului Airport (OGG). From there, it’s about a 30-minute drive to Ho'olei at Grand Wailea. The resort offers a variety of transportation to take you to or from the airport. Maui - HOO'Lei

The Villas are fantastic. It has it own smaller, less-crowded pool area while also being right across the street from Grand Wailea. There are also a number of activities for the family.

Lovely Accommodations but delivery not timely

There was a delay in checking in as the villa was not serviced in a timely manner. The staff tried very hard though to make things right. Peanut Butter from my grocery delivery was expired by 6 months. I noticed this only after giving it to my 3-year old. They credited me and replaced it. We did not care for the chaos of Grand Wailea across the street but really appreciated the spaciousness of the villa. Despite the beauty of the area and close proximity to the shops at Wailea, we probably would not stay there again. The Andaz close by seemed to have a more serene environment than that at Grand Wailea. We prefer also being further north up in Kaanapali.

Beautiful Skyline View

Samantha/Jerome/Shaunte in the office at Ho'oleiare super nice and very accommodating! We stayed in villa 63-4 and the view was great. However, if you want to go to the beach you have to shuttle (or walk up/down hill) to the hotel and then wind through the hotel to the beach. But the pool at Ho'olei is a great layout and very quiet.

Liked It, Almost Loved It!

We really liked this trip and would have rated it as Loved It, but for one experience. The pool and beach at the Grand Wailea is a bit of a circus. For those on the East Coast, pretty much like Atlantis in the Bahamas. Therefore, my family (22, 20, 12 year old kids), had no interest in the pool at Grand Wailea, however we did want to spend time on the beach. So here is the deal. There are typically three rows of beach chairs on the beach. If you want the front row, you need to be in line at 6:30 AM. The second row, you will need to be there by 6:45-7:00 AM. The third and final row, you need to be in line by 7:15 - 7:30 at the latest. Outside of the beach/pool at Grand Wailea, everything else was awesome! So now, here are the things we really enjoyed. First and foremost, our unit at Ho'olei was excellent and the staff (Shaunte, Samantha, and the entire staff at Ho'olei) could not have been better!! They were extremely responsive to every request we made. PLUS, when we didn't plan to be at the beach, the Ho'olei pools was way better and less crowded than Grand Wailea. Also, if you needed to get anywhere in Wailea, no need for a car. The Ho'olei staff would drive us anywhere in the area we needed to go, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so.

If you do want to go to the Wailea beach/pool, in my opinion, the best value is to reserve a lawn Casabella #1 - 16. These run about $150 per day, and include two chairs, but can easily be shared with a few family members. They are reserved, so no need to get down to the beach at 6:30 in the morning. We did this for two days, and was a good value compared with renting a cabana.

Other things we liked:

My kids wanted a little adventure, so the staff at Ho'olei recommended one of the most popular activities with our kids. There is a service from Bext Maui. www.bextmaul.com. This was a great service. They basically drop off a jeep at your unit, which includes a mini iPad with about thirty pre-programmed adventures on the island. Cliff jumping, road to Hana, Hiking, etc. They are all pre-programmed with GPS so the kids were instructed where to stop , how to access a specific cliff or beach etc. They really loved it!

Helicopter Tour: We did Blue Hawaiian. My wife and I used this one before, and we would still recommend. However, this is a very expensive trip and in terms of value ranks very low. That being said, if you do want to do a helicopter tour, we would very much recommend Blue Hawaiian.

Snorkel Sail: I really tried to find an affordable private charter, but I was unsuccessful. So I looked for the next best thing. A snorkel tour on a boat with a small number of people, that felt like a private charter. I found that with Sail Maui. The paragon II boat and crew were fantastic. They made a sincere effort to get to know as many people on the boat as possible. This boat is a little smaller than some other boats, so you don't get 75 or more people. There were probably 20 - 30 people on our boat, so felt pretty exclusive. Also, I recommend sitting on the back of the boat for the ride out and back. Many people rushed to the front when they boarded, but those people got soaked on the sail back.

Dining:

We had a good mixture of eating out and eating in. Restaurants we liked included Monkey Pod, Humu Humu, Duo and Ferraro's at the Four Seasons. For something a little more casual (we did lunch and dinner take out one night) we would recommend, Three's Bar and Grille. We also enjoyed Longhi's.

Golf:

My sons and I played both the gold and emerald corse in Wailea. They were both very nice. Twilight golf is definitely a better value.

Overall, we really liked Ho'olei, and would return again!
