Terrific Property in a Beautiful Area

Stillwater Retreat is a beautiful property about 10 minutes from the town of Whitefish and about 50 minutes from the entrance to Glacier National Park. We stayed at the end of September, which turned out to be a perfect time of year to enjoy the outdoors, hiking and visiting the park, seeing the leaves change, and making use of the best features of the house.

We visited with a group of friends and loved taking advantage of the onsite enclosed "sports court" which is especially great for pickleball! There is a fire pit and hot tub right outside the front door as well, perfect gathering spots.

The house itself is beautiful, as others have commented already. It is worth noting that the kitchen is smaller than most of the other Inspirato houses we have stayed at. It worked great for us, but if you are planning a lot of cooking for a large group, you might want to know about it.

Finally, Marilyn is an outstanding Planner and Concierge who shared her love for this property with us and helped us to have the best time there. You will be in good hands with her recommendations!

Beautiful property outside of Whitefish

My wife and I noticed the Stillwater Retreat was available between bookings for a weekend during our trip to Glacier National Park and even though it was just the 2 of us, and it is a 4-bedroom house, we decided to splurge and booked the house.

The property is beautiful - the hay fields, the horses and horse pasture, the woods down to the river, mountains in the distance. The house is stunning, tastefully decorated, modern, with big windows for viewing the scenery. The rooftop deck is a great place to hang out (although the fireplace was out of commission). The house itself is a bit quirky, with its European windows and doors (can be tricky to operate), European appliances (two of which didn't work - waiting for parts!), and the tiny kitchen.

The sports shed with pickleball court is a nice touch.

We grilled out one night and took the short drive into Whitefish for dinner the other and ventured off into local hiking trails in between. The house's proximity to Whitefish is a big plus.

We enjoyed our brief stay and will plan to come back with a bigger group in the future.

1000% Recommend - Absolutely Amazing!!

We had the best time at Stillwater Retreat and I would say it's an unmissable destination!!!

First of all, the house is absolutely GORGEOUS and so fun. There are huge windows overlooking fields, horses, and mountains, and the decor is great. The house was in pristine condition, and the hot tub and campfire were so fun!! The roof deck was also so great for watching stars. It's a really unique house and also the location is great, just about 10 mins outside of Whitefish.

Which gets me to the next point - this area is SO COOL! Whitefish the town is gorgeous, so cute, and has amazing coffee shops, restaurants, and even nightlife (tons of live music and bars stay open till 2am!). The City Beach is lovely, as well as all views around. The drive from the house to the town brings you through wildflower fields with gorgeous horses.

The surrounding area is amazing as well and there is soooo much to do! We were there for 4 days but all of us agreed we would have stayed for a month if we could. Glacier Park is soooo stunningly beautiful, as well as Flathead Lake. Just driving around is such an awesome experience.

We did two experiences booked through Cat which were both awesome and totally recommended. We rode horses at Artemis acres which was so cool and pretty (riding through wildflowers, up mountains, and with views of Glacier/The Rockies). We also rented e-bikes through Flathead Outdoors in Glacier which was one of the best experiences of my life - don't miss it if this is an option while you're visiting!! Both these activities are unforgettable.

Last but definitely not least, Cat was such a great host/planner. She really added to our experience there with her enthusiasm, attentiveness, and care and love she puts into the house and the trips. You'll be really lucky if you're staying here and working with Cat.

Overall, such an amazing experience and I want to go back and share it with my family and others!! Definitely book if you are considering it.

Pretty light on the outside of the house! View of campfire and hot tubAvalanche Lake in Glacier!Rooftop sunsetHuge windows with beautiful views (pictures don't do it justice)Riding Horses with mountain viewsShort drive from horses - really pretty views and swimming spot!

Don't stay in warm or hot weather!!

Great location, helpful and knowledgeable Concierge; area offers great activities for families -- A/C is too small for large home: is not capable of cooling house, inadequate door and window screening for air flow/relief and holes in screens that allow mosquitoes to get in. Large biting mosquitoes over entire property - definitely needs stream and around home treated by professional. Ice Maker was not working when we arrived. Freezer was not working when we arrived. We were told upon arrival that parts were back ordered. Unless house cooling issues improved and fixed, this house should not be advertised, featured, or rented during WARM summer months.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this review, Jack. I'm so sorry the house wasn't up to par, and I know your Care team was aware and worked with you to resolve those issues as best as possible. I did want to note that the air conditioning, freezer, and ice maker have all been replaced—the home is in tip-top shape and ready to exceed your expectations on a future trip!

Whitefish in Late April / May

We went to Whitefish and stayed at the beautiful Stillwater Retreat for my husband's surprise 35th birthday! It was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about the house -- it was exactly as pictured and even more breathtaking in person. The design and architectural attention to detail are so unique for the location, making it a definite standout.

It's about 40 minutes drive to the entrance of East Glacier National Park -- which provided us with many hiking, biking, and outdoor activities. Only about 10 mins from downtown Whitefish, where you will find lots of great restaurants!

The concierge on site, Cat, is absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond to decorate for my husband's birthday, checked in on us multiple times, and booked many excursions for our long weekend.

One thing to note: there are actually two queens in the house and not a full! Primary bedroom has a king, two guest bedrooms have queens, and then the fourth bedroom has a full and twin bed. We didn't have anyone stay in the 4th bedroom - I would only recommend this for small children as it is a tight room with small accommodations.

This is a true gem! I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat! If you love adventure, being outdoors, and exploring a beautiful National Park, do not miss this one!
